It's time for me to hit the road again and this time, I'll be gone for two weeks. This picture shows how much clothing I'm taking. And it all fits in one, large suitcase!
I would list the contents of this packing job but trust me, there's just too much to summarize. I admit I'm taking more than normal because I don't have airline luggage restrictions holding me back. But I'm not completely cheating on my smart travel rules since it all fits in one suitcase. (Oh, the lies we tell ourselves.) I basically selected a bunch of jeans and tanks and tees to coordinate. Oh, and I added some dresses just in case one of my friends suggests we do something other than eat white cheddar cheese puffs on the sofa while we catch up on Tivo.
If you need a more sophisticated method for packing, take this suggestion from the June 2007 issue of Glamour (p.108). Take the number of days you're traveling and divide that number by 2. Then pack that number of bottoms for your trip. For example, if your trip is 8 days long, pack 4 pants, jeans, or skirts. To determine how many tops to bring, multiple the number of travel days by 1.5 (which would mean taking 12 tops in our example.) Brilliant! Then add a sweater or blazer to aid chilly arms at air-conditioned venues and comfortable shoes that cover multiple activities.
I know this pic looks like a closet regurgitated its contents but I think it makes the point. You don't have to pack everything you own in order to achieve great style. Packing keys pieces that work well together will get you through your entire trip. And you'll look good too.

As hard as it may be for me to believe this, but the way it looks it doesn't look like you have room for 'Shopping'. I know when I plan to have an extended stay (more than a week) whether it's by plane, train or automobile, I always leave room for some 'added' attire. Meaning I plan to 'fit' in some shopping items in my luggage. Depending on where your going, speaking for myself, I'd take an empty suitcase or something of the like in order to have room for the 'new' stuff. Lemme fall back, enjoy ya trip on the road and take plenty pics, cuz they are the snapshots of life when you start to reflect.
Enjoy and treat yourself to a unique, chic and frugal shopping item. Think souvenir that you wir (wear)!

Love it. One of August Deed is efficient and one of us is a rolling carnival.
My honey bun and I are headed to a couple of islands next month and he has already been issused space bags even though he claims that it is a female thing to overpack( forgive him --he is a reforming in a lot of areas right now).
The other half of August Deed is headed right up the road for her sorority regionals and has packed 5 complete outfits--just refuses to mix and match pieces--EVER.
I see you have QUITE a few things, but your packing ideas are right on the money. DO you use a seperate bag for your beauty and grooming items?

You called it perfectly Patent Pending. I don't have much room for shoppping in my luggage but I could squeeze a few choice items since I'm driving and not flying. But I'm not planning on doing much shopping. Welllll, I might swing by H&M (you just can't beat the prices. :)
And to answer your question August Deed, I do put my beauty and hair products in a roll up bag that has 4 sections. It's perfect for holding my endless list of beauty crap!
