Jeans are arguably one of the most important wardrobe pieces in our closets. They even have a day dedicated to them in the workplace. (Jeans Friday ring any bells.) So where did this staple come from?
• Denim was patented on May 20, 1873
• The first pair of jeans was created by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss
• Levi’s jeans for women is first shown in Vogue magazine in 1835
• American women own an average of 8.3 pairs of jeans (men own 8.2)
• Women pay $35.83/pair (but with the advent of premium denim, more women are willing to pay $200/pair)
