First gas blew past $3.50 a gallon. But now things are getting serious. We've all heard about how the high price of gas is impacting food prices. Now it seems that it's driving the sale of shoes too.
According to an article at Footwearnews.com, foot traffic as slowed down at many shoes stores because people are spending money on the things they need like food, shelter, gas to get to work, and not on the latest pair of strappy sandals. Even the high-end shopper, who based on comments from Neiman Marcus Group CEO, Burt Tansky, has cut back from buying two pairs of Louboutins or Manolo Blahniks instead of three. Whoa. We must be in a recession.
While I have mininimized how much I'll spend on designer shoes, I'm still shopping for them, trying to catch them on sale. (Note: If you see a pair of Sigerson Morrisons slashed under $200, please let me know. I'm sure I can survive on oatmeal, pasta, marinara sauce, and kale.)
Have you stop buying shoes or other disposable items because of the sagging economy?

August Deed two bought our Mommy some Sieger Morrison's for under $180 for Mother's day from her fave online shoe shop: 6pm.com.
I ike it too. I have a couple of pairs of Etro pumps for a DECENT price( can't always catch a sale on shoes, but I always catch one on clothing! ) :-)

You're right August Deed. It can be tricky to find designer shoes on sale, especially if you're working with a size 9 or above foot. But definitely keep looking Sigerson Morrison for under $200 is my kind of gift!
