I loved Miranda's very versatile assymetrical bob.
I loved Samantha's very tasteful bikini for a 50 year old lady.Age appropriate sexy.
I like Carrie's look only sometimes( too too thift store sometimes) and was loving her shoes throughout.
I did not like the ending--nothing romantic about Big's childish behavior. If he did not like the way things were going--he should have told her firmly before not showing up at the alter he is too old for that. I know she may spank me,but Big and Carrie are similar to August Deed two and her fiancee'--even though he is real sweet to my sister--he is that immature in his decisions at times too.

P.S. Yves Saint Laurent died yesterday.

Thanks for your feedback August Deed One! Miranda's hair was super cute. And Carrie's shoes should win an award! As for the ending, while Big's action may be immature, I think they're quite common for most people. It's hard for people to be honesty and say how they really feel, especially when that honesty hurts someone they deeply care about. I thought it was a great way to show the wonderful complexity of these characters and their relationships- just like real life.

And thanks for the info on Yves Saint Laurent. I heard about his death this morning. A legend passes on.....

Ok so, we all got jazzed up an decended upon the theatre...it was the best dressed movie I've ever been too...dare I say better than your ATL version of a Lion King?;-) I was loving all the shoes!!! Carrie also had this LV clutch that looked distressed and was hot! I was loving Charlotte's classic styles (oh I was ready for a fight in the mermaid dres) I can't totally get behind Carrie's style, but I loved her accesories. And was it me or was the pink pumps that the guy was wearing on his interview hot or what!? I'm just saying I need my hubby to see this so he can build me that CLOSET!

STYLEnosh

LOL You make a great point Mo. The SATC audience definitely outdressed The Lion King crowd. A lot of people are saying that they don't particularly care for Carrie's style but of course I love it! I think that her job, like many of us, is to push the edge on what's fashionable, innovative, and stylish. And Patricia Field (the designer/stylist) for SATC, delivers that goal with perfection.
As for pink shoes guy, they were pretty sweet. I especially like the fact that he wore them with a gray suit. :) Oh, and if you get your husband to build that closet, you can't ask for anything else! lol

Mo

Hmmmm...I guess being fair that is true...but I'm sure I'd find something else for him to build me:-)

STYLEnosh

Agreed, Mo! lol

Ok, so I realize I am going to be in the serious minority for writing this, especially on a fashion blog, but don't you think they MAYBE took the fashion thing a little far? I am all about really nice, lovely, fashionable things, but the things I buy are sort of the things I use to live rather than the focus of my life. I guess I think of it like Europeans. Fashion should be ever-present, but shouldn't be the main event and shouldn't be so fussy or over the top that it doesn't integrate into your life easily. I know that sounds real soccer mom, but it's anything but. It's more fashion as a lifestyle rather than the main event. And yes, it's just me being rebellious again. :)

STYLEnosh

Oh Jess, my friend, always challenging the establishment. I love that about you! Actually I did consider the question you pose when I initially saw the commercials and the trailer. But when I saw the movie, the fashion didn't disrupt the scenes- it was present but not overbearing. As far as fashion not being fussy, I think it depends on your personality. Your style is fashionable and always present but it's almost like an afterthought. As if you can throw on a wrinkled shirt and faded jeans and look phenomenal. Your style is effortless. Then there's people like me who look at fashion or the aesthetics as a way of living. Not in a pretentious way. It's really more organic, like the importance of beautiful things is ingrained in your DNA. What a great topic! I'd love to hear more opinions on it.

Jess

Gratzi on the compliment, and also for appreciating my rebellion. lol.

I think that how fashion works in your life is largely a function of personality. Remember my belly shirt, flip flip and sparkle phase? On second thought, let's not. :) But that's who I was then and that's how "fashion" worked for me. Now that I am an old MeeMaw, things have gotten more toned down and classic. Not a sparkle in sight!

So to each her own. I guess each of us just needs to find what works for her now and go with it.
