I apologize for the lack of posts lately, but on Monday, my great-grandmother passed away after 90 phenomenal years of living.
As you can see from the picture, she was beautiful and definitely stylish. What you can't see is her strength, business savvy, feistiness, and her plain spoken nature. I can honestly say that she is the reason I am comfortable following my own path and creating an unconventional life.
She was the cornerstone of five generations of one small family. And while she may be gone from this earthly world, her presence is permanently woven into each of our souls.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your kinds words during this difficult time. I sincerely appreciate all of your prayers.
What a blessing to have lived that long. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Thanks Mo and August Deed! I really appreciate the kind words of comfort. It really is a blessing to have had a great grandmother for any length of time but for 30 plus years is practically unheard of.

It was impossible not to love Big Mama. She was plain spoken, as she loved to say, and just firey. :) I know the void left in your family will be hard to heal from, but she is with you always. Trust that. Remember she loved you and is watching out for you always.
