GREAT WARDROBE ADDITIONS: DRESSES FOR UNDER $50

You could say it's the year of the dress. But since dresses have been popular for several years now, they're really going on a four or five season run of the article of clothing to buy. If you're looking for an easy way to get dressed for work or the next big social event, a dress can be your most fashionable option. 

I've searched the web looking for the fantastic dress additions for the summer wardrobe. Bonus: They're all under 50 bucks!

First up, this ruffle number from Target. It's a fashionable dress with fabulous detail. It's a little short for work so I suggest you wear it to brunch or dinner with friends. It comes in junior sizes (meaning it may not work for curvy shapes). But at $29.99, it's a great price for weekend play time. 

If you're looking for something to wear to work and you only have 20 minutes to get out the door because you're a 

snooze-a-holic, check out this chic take on the shirtdress by AGB on sale for $48 at Macys.com. Be different and choose the mocha color over black. That toned down brown will look good with pink, green, or yellow.

I love this simple sleeveless dress. It comes in so many colors, it reminds me of a crayon box. It's strong enough to work independently or with a jacket. It looks a little short on the model but it should be the appropriate length for work for the average height individual. You can find this steal at New York & Company for just under $21.

What about footless tights and this style dress--in your opinion? I just like to hear what short ladies think.I think you said you were short. I am right at 5 feet..

Hmm...footless tights are a tricky one, August Deed. I personally think they look best on tall women. Petite women can wear the style too but the tights should be capri length and not ankle length, which will make you look short and squatty. I've decided to forgo this trend. It seems better suited for people under 20.
