My personal biggest fashion mistake has been not realizing that light colored thin slacks are not my new cellulite's friend.I can say a close second is my cardigans that are too snug. I never try them on--buy " my size" and never account for the different cuts of the sweater, every single one that I own is too little --that is a shame and I still wear them.
My beauty mistake was being a blonde when it was obvious that I was not a blonde. It took me 1 year to finally get it through my head.No insults swayed me--no bad pictures at family gatherings--no strange stares from my then toddler twins.

Mo

I had to go back and think about this one, *sigh* I have so many faux pas....Can I quantify though, if it was considered in style at the time, is it still a faux pas?:-)I must say I thought I looked awesome in tight white jordache jeans with no pockets (and a donk), a slouchy shirt with mall bangs (I grew up in Cali everyone did it there)my Sally Jesse Raphael glasses and some rebook hightops... My biggest faux pas that I still rock before 7am only is going to the grocery store and/or starbucks sans a bra with a sweatshirt, and pj bottoms or sweatpants I've had for 15 years with a few choice holes in the bum area (covered by the sweatshirt). Yeah I know it's foul, but I really just rolled out of bead and am not keen to impress ANYONE at that hour.

August Deed, I totally understand the too small sweater. There always seems to be something we gravitate towards that looks absolutely crazy on us. But we want it anyway. Maybe you can automatically go up a size when you're cardigan shopping. :) Now the blonde hair faux pas is hi-lar-i-ous! I cried out loud when I read that strange stares from your toddlers didn't stop you. Classic.

Hmm....Mo, I'm thinking over here. Okay, so if the potential faux pas was considered in style previously, I don't think we can hold that one against you. But I don't know about the tight white Jordache jeans. They don't sound like a good idea in any decade. lol As for the rolled out of bed Starbucks look, just be on the look out for fashion bloggers with a camera phone. We are everywhere waiting for a moment just like that. :)
