IF YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR ANTIQUING...

Not that any of you need me to tell you how to spend your money. I know someone's shopping because every time I roll onto a mall parking lot, I can't find a blimping place to park. But anyway, I digress. So where will I be perusing this weekend?

I will probably return to my new favorite antique store. It's called Kudzu Antiques and it's a goldmine full of beautiful furniture from another time. Think old school craftsmanship at decent prices. But not only do they have an excellent selection of antique furniture, they also boast these perfect little stalls with vendors selling vintage clothing, shoes, and handbags. Can you say vintage nirvana?

I spotted the cutest bag from the 70s and it was only $14. If you enjoy scoring great vintage finds in wonderful condition, you have to check out this fabulous space!  

THE WAREHOUSE SALE COMES TO ATLANTA & OTHER WEEKEND SALES

Hey everybody! The traveling Warehouse Sale hits Atlanta this weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center. The focus of the sale is squarely on designer denim. Think True Religion, Rock and Republic, and Citizens for Humanity. Who couldn't use a a new pair of jeans? Be sure to RSVP or there's a $5 entrance fee. 

You may want to check out Bloomingdale's too. They're having an online sale that boasts an additional 40-50% off of select sale items.

And over at Neiman Marcus, their getting into the sale mood too by taking an additional 1/3 off of sale items with their End of the Season Sale.

A FALL SALE IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER...THANKS NORDSTROM!

I know for some of you, thinking about fall while it's still hot outside feels like you're wasting precious summer. But when Nordstrom has their Anniversary Sale, it's okay to make an exception.

I'm eyeballing sleek booties and eclectic pumps like these two-toned loafers by Naughty Monkey. The good news is that you get to snag some fantastic fall finds at decent prices. The bad news is that depending on where you live, you may not be wearing that cute new blazer another three or four months. This is the last weekend for the sale so be sure to complete your fall scavenging by Monday, August 4th. 

BONUS: Don't forget it's Sales Tax Holiday time in Georgia this weekend, which means the sales tax is suspended on back to school related items like clothes, shoes, and computers. 

MY SHOPPING SWAG!

I hope you guys came back through STYLEnosh this weekend and noticed that I updated Friday's post with information about a fantastic sale going on at The Limited. A few weeks ago I signed up to receive store updates so that I'd know when their online store was going to (finally) be up and running. I didn't realize they would be sending sale emails too, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got a note on Friday stating that clearance was an additional 60% off! But that little surprise pales in comparison to what was coming when I got to the store. 

Okay, so here's all the stuff I copped:

* Gray pinstriped pants - they're the Lexie fit with the curvy silhouette and slender waist making them a great pair of pants for curvy girls - $16

* Strapless black dress - can be dressed up or down - $16

* Putty colored blazer - can be worn with pants, skirts, and jeans in infinite combinations - $16

* Black t-shirt - can't have too many - $4

* Celadon henley t-shirt - unbelievably cute - $4

* Gold hoop earrings - a jewelry classic - $14.50

* Black & white scarf - okay, I have a scarf addiction - $4

The super cool surprise came when they took an additional $25 off of the total because I had at least $75 worth of stuff. My final total came to just under $53! Now that is a great day of shopping.

WEEKEND SALES...

Ah, you all know how much I love a great sale. And leave it to Bloomingdale's to not disappoint. Now through Monday, July 28th, take an additional 25 - 40% off already reduced merchandise for women, men, and kids. Please note that only select items are eligible for the additional savings but don't worry, these items are clearly marked. 

And over at La Redoute, they've slashed prices up to 75% off. Not familiar with La Redoute? They're a popular French catalog store with the occasional discount designer line reminiscent of H&M and Target. 

UPDATE: The Limited is clearing out their summer wear with an incredible deal. Take an additional 60% off clearance prices. Spend $75 and they'll shave off another $25! Sweet!!

HAVE YOU BEEN TO DSW LATELY?

Okay, so I probably shouldn't have been in DSW.. But I was on my way home from a lunch engagement and in the name of gas conservation, I thought it would be better to optimize my trip. 

Anyhoo, I did a brisk walk through the store and I discovered some great finds. Like these fantastic black heels from Modern Vintage. With the DSW clearance discount, these lovelies were just over $100, which is a phenomenal price. 

Unfortunately, I noticed that the Modern Vintage line is not featured on the DSW website. But don't fret, you can find this interesting footwear line at Shoes.com and Zappos. Both online stores have a decent sampling of Modern Vintage shoes. Of course the shoes aren't as cheap as DSW, but I guess you can't have everything.

SHOPPING WISHLIST: THE ENTIRE SALE AT YOOX.COM

Humans are creatures of habit. But doing the same things, the same way, all the time can hurt you on occasion. For instance, I tend to shop at the same stores and visit the same online sites. And that's how I almost missed this phenomenal sale at Yoox.com.

Yoox is great place to find those fun designers that your local department stores may not carry like Fornarina or CAFe'NOIR. Whether you shop the 70% or 50% off sales, there's a ton of merchandise available under $100! So when shopping online, think of Yoox.com as ordering fish instead of chicken as usual.

BOTKIER FOR TARGET

Well, I don't know where I've been (ahem, traveling for 3 weeks) but I totally missed the news that Botkier was designing a collection for Target. And the new bags are already hanging in stores. I personally like the gold or silver hobo bags. However, I'm not sure I'm willing to pay $49.99 for one. I know, I know, it's Botkier for goodness sake. I'm just saying. Fifty bucks for a Target bag? Now I may be willing to part with $29.99 for the white python bag. You be the judge. Is this top designer's discount bag worth $50 of your money? 

A FEW SALES TO CHECK OUT...

Macy's is having a One Day Sale on Saturday, July 12th. If you're not familiar with the Macy's One Day Sale concept, they usually pick a day for the sale and then they'll have a preview for the sale the day before. Yeah, it sounds like a Two Day Sale to me too but whatever they call it, you can usually get some great deals. And just in case you didn't catch it, today is the preview day.

And over at Neiman Marcus, you can snag an additional 40% off sale prices. I don't think NM has this sale often so you may want to jump on this one.

TAKE AN ADDITIONAL 20% OFF AT URBANOUTFITTERS.COM

I just stumbled across this sale at Urban Outfitters and I apologize for the late notice. It ends tonight at midnight so check it out before the deals are no more.

I perused the site and discovered a bevy of merchandise for women. Be sure to shop the dress section because there's a lot of cute stuff for play and foreplay.  

And there's also something for the men too. I personally like the jean and shoe selection for the fellas.

DON'T BUY ANOTHER PAIR OF BLACK PANTS!...SMART SHOPPING TIPS

Okay, so I may have been doing a little shopping yesterday. And when I returned home after five hours of combing the stores, I realized I bought another silk, polka dot dress. (I just bought a similar dress last month and wore it to the Sex and the City debut.) 

So this predicament got me thinking about how often we go shopping and come home with things that look like the stuff that's already hanging in our closets. Some people own eight pairs of black pants. Or they buy anything in the color green. But you can stop yourself from purchasing the same clothes or colors over and over. Here's the strategy I should have used yesterday:

• Make a plan - I've written about the importance of making a plan before you shop several times in the past. If you spend a little time upfront thinking about the areas where your wardrobe is deficient, you can build a useful closet and eliminate unnecessary redundancy. When you're getting dressed and you realize you're missing a great fitting pair of brown pants, write it down or store the information in your cell phone. Then you'll remember what you need to buy while you're out shopping. Currently, my shopping plan includes gladiator heels, blouses (especially anything with a tie-neck), and pants (which I always need). Notice that polka dot dress is not on my list.

• Shop your plan - I know it can be dizzying when you walk into a store and there's Take an Additional 40% off signs blocking your path, but don't get lost in the deals. Look for pants to wear to work if that's what's on your shopping plan. And if you spot a rack of sweaters on super sale but you already have a closet full of sweaters you don't wear, stay away from that rack! 

• Limit your shopping - Giving yourself a limited time to shop may prevent unnecessary purchases. But if you're the person the salesperson is pushing under the gate at 9 pm, you often end up buying a lot more than you intended. Shop at lunch or in between appointments to keep you focused on the items you really need and not just the ones on sale.

I know, there's always a sale going on somewhere in the world, but here are some you may want to check out this weekend. Just remember, use cash and save your plastic for when you really need it- like filling up your gas tank!

Macy's is offering up buy 1 pair, save 50% on the 2nd pair. Sorry guys. This offer is only for the ladies. 

But if you fellas are in a shopping mood, visit the men's clearance section at Macy's. I found some great deals like this Calvin Klein Jacket.

And over at Banana Republic, the sale is up to 50% off of select items. The cool thing at this website is that you can shop at The Gap, Old Navy, Piperlime (an online shoe store) AND Banana Republic! That's shopping at four stores and paying one time. I love it!
